Privacy policy

Short version: this site collects the analytics most sites collect, plus whatever you choose to email us. We don't sell personal information, we don't run advertising or retargeting pixels, and the Pipeline Health Check keeps its promise: your answers never leave your browser. The details, in plain language, follow.

Who we are

This policy covers the etlmaestro.com website only. Use of the ETLMaestro product is governed by your subscription agreement, which has its own data-protection terms.

What we collect, and why

Email you send us

Demo requests and contact on this site work by email. When you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply and to follow up about the product. Mail lives in our Microsoft 365 mailboxes, is accessible to the three people on the team, and is kept for as long as we have a business reason to keep the conversation. Ask and we'll delete it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages are read and where the site is confusing. These tools use cookies and similar identifiers and collect usage data such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and interaction events. Clarity also produces heatmaps and session replays with text inputs masked. We configure analytics without advertising features, and we do not use this data for ads or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Hosting and delivery logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, they process IP addresses, user-agent strings, and request logs on our behalf to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

The Health Check exception

The Master Pipeline Health Check states that your answers never leave the page. We mean it: the quiz is scored entirely in your browser, answers are not transmitted to us, and we exclude analytics and session-recording scripts from that page so your selections aren't captured indirectly either.

Who processes data for us

Three providers, all acting on our instructions: Cloudflare (hosting and content delivery), Google (Analytics), and Microsoft (Clarity, and Microsoft 365 for email). We don't sell personal information to anyone, and no one gets your data for their own marketing.

Your choices

• Block analytics freely. The site is fully functional with analytics blocked. Browser-level blockers and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on both work here.
• Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We don't sell or share personal information as state privacy laws define those terms, so there is no sale for these signals to opt you out of.
• Access and deletion. Virginia's consumer data protection law applies to controllers far larger than us, but we'll honor reasonable access and deletion requests from anyone regardless of statutory thresholds. Email us.

Retention

Google Analytics user-level data is set to the 14-month retention window. Clarity session recordings expire on Microsoft's standard schedule (roughly 30 days). Email is kept while the business relationship or inquiry is live. Hosting logs rotate on our providers' standard schedules.

Children

This is a business-to-business site about data orchestration. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters (a new tool that collects more, a new use of existing data), we'll update the dateline above and note material changes here at least 30 days before they take effect. Cosmetic edits just update the dateline.
